The Mission Viejo Diablos divers finished third at the 10th Annual Santa Margarita Catholic High School Invitational on Saturday, April 14. The Diablos were led by junior, Katie Wallace, who finished 5th with a score of 415.75. Wallace was followed by sophomore, Megan Navarro, in 15th with 268.45 points. Freshmen Avery Ackerman finished 16th with 258.55 points and Alexandra Casarietti finished 20th with 245.80 points.

Wallace earned another All-American score submission and CIF Southern Section Division I automatic qualifying score. Navarro earned a consideration berth to CIF, and Ackerman and Casarietti are within striking distance of consideration status for CIF. “Our divers are improving at every meet this season. I’m really excited by how hard they’re working. It shows at every meet as they’re gaining confidence and closing in on their season goals,” said MVHS Coach T Sorenson.

The Diablos’ next meet is the South Coast League Championships at the newly renovated Marguerite Aquatic Center in Mission Viejo the week of April 30. Exact date and time is TBA.
